HANOI, November 3, 2011 -- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam welcomed a large group of visitors to our office in Hanoi to commemorate USAID's 50th anniversary worldwide at an open house event for the public on November 3, 2011, 50 years after then President John F. Kennedy established USAID.  Government counterparts, donors, students, and the public visited displays set up by USAID staff and implementing partners and participated in activities throughout the day.

"Whether by providing methadone and antiretroviral drugs to support a robust community response to help people living with HIV in Vietnam, distributing bednets to stem the spread of malaria in Senegal, or by training teachers in Peru, USAID is a key partner in promoting sustainable human development activities around the world," USAID Mission Director Francis Donovan told guests at a reception at the USAID office.
