Thunderbirds to visit local high schools

10/13/2008 - DOBBINS AIR RESERVE BASE, Ga. -- Students at Marietta High School and Cherokee High Schools will get a taste of air power when they receive a special visit from the U.S. Air Force's premier aerial demonstration team Friday, Oct. 17.

The USAF Thunderbirds are scheduled to visit the schools to help promote the Wings Over Marietta air show Oct. 18-19 and to inspire potential recruits into the service. The team is also the headlining act both days of the show.

The Thunderbirds are one of several aerial demonstrations scheduled to perform at the "Wings Over Marietta" Air Show. Other teams include the first-ever F-22 Raptor Demo team; an F-15E Strike Eagle Demo Team and the Wings of Blue Demonstration Parachute Team along with various civilian aerobatic acts and static displays.
