The 1993 BLS Survey of Employer Provided Training reveals that larger establishments are far more likely than smaller ones to provide formal training to their employees, as are establishments that offer various benefits or employ certain workplace practices. This article examines the results of this survey, designed to collect information on the existence of various types of formal training programs that were provided or financed by private nonagricultural establishments during 1993.
