MISAWA IN-PROCESSING


Base In-processing as of 5 Jun 2012

Base in-processing begins with your unit INTRO monitor. Upon arrival, sponsors must accompany and direct all newcomers to their respective unit INTRO monitor. Unit monitors initiate base and unit level in-processing actions and schedules members for their mandatory Right Start brief.

Right Start

Tuesday: All newcomers must report to right start at 0900 hrs in MPS Bldg 653, RM 111. This is a mandatory appointment. The session will include briefings from various base agencies. Please instruct newcomers to bring the following items with them:

1. 10 copies of PCS orders and amendments
2. All receipts, including commercial auto, bus, lodging, and any additional expenses over $75.00
3. All SATO and commercial airline tickets
4. Recruiter's Assistance Letter (if applicable)
5. Any advance travel pay information
6. Any finance records
7. New PCS address, home phone number, and duty phone number
8. A dark blue or black ink pen

Base Orientation

Wednesday: Active duty, civilians, spouses, and children in the Consolidated Club, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. This session includes briefings pertinent to everyone moving to Misawa. The afternoon includes the drivers training brief and written exam, in order to receive the local driver's license.

Thursday: Misawa City Tour and Culture Orientation (7:45 - 11:30 a.m.)

Friday: Hachinohe City Tour (summer: 7:45 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; winter: 8:35 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

The tours occur each week and are sponsored by the Airmen & Family Readiness Center (tours will not occur on American holidays and some Japanese holidays.) They are mandatory for all Air Force active duty and highly recommended for all others (including family members). All tours leave from the Misawa Inn Conference Room. Other mandatory briefings
The "Warrior Brief" is held the last Wednesday of each month from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the 35th Fighter Wing conference room. This is a classified briefing for active duty Air Force. You must have a copy of your orders and your ID card to attend.

E-4 and below financial refresher class is held the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the A&FRC in the Torii building 656. This class is mandatory for Air Force E-4 & below that do not attend the First Term Airmen Center at Misawa.

First duty station officer's financial class is offered monthly at the A&FRC. This class is mandatory for all officers in which Misawa AB is their first duty station. Officers will be scheduled for the class at right start.

First Term Airman's Center If Misawa is your first duty station you will attend a one week orientation to Misawa through the First Term Airman's Center. Go to the in-processing listed above and you will receive further information about when and where to go to start your orientation. Navy in-processing (check-in and indoctrination)
Check-in is held every day at 9 a.m. in building 980. Please bring all spending receipts with you.

Base Indoctrination:
All active duty Navy personnel are required to attend a five-day orientation course to include base indoctrination, and overseas duty support program (Japan indoctrination), and driving safely in Japan. Dependents are welcome to attend the base indoctrination and overseas duty support program. All active duty members will be scheduled upon arrival.
