EQIP Applications From Utah Farmers Welcome

NRCS has directed more than $16 million in financial assistance for fiscal 2013 to help Utah producers implement conservation practices through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), the agency’s largest Farm Bill conservation program. Interested producers should visit their local NRCS service center for information on EQIP sign-up periods.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 24, 2012- Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced that Hispanic and women farmers and ranchers who allege discrimination by the USDA in past decades can file claims between September 24, 2012 and March 25, 2013.

Logan Northern Canal Reconstruction Project

Logan Northern Canal Reconstruction Project

NRCS has published the Record of Decision (ROD) for the reconstruction of the Logan Northern Canal in Cache County, Utah. The purpose of this project is to restore the safe delivery of water that was conveyed by the LN Canal before the 2009 landslide and Address the remaining hazards associated with the landslide zone between about 700 East and 1100 East.
