U.S. Ambassador Wayne and PEMEX Director Lozoya Discuss Upcoming Activitie

As part of his ongoing courtesy calls with members of President Enrique Pena Nieto’s cabinet and high level Mexican officials, U.S. Ambassador Anthony Wayne met with Pemex Director General Emilio Lozoya to discuss Pemex’ upcoming Chicontepec workshop, the Trans-boundary Agreement on Hydrocarbons in the Gulf of Mexico, and other topics of mutual interest.  “The economic partnership between the United States and Mexico continues to be a vibrant part of our overall relationship,” Ambassador Wayne said.  “This month the U.S. Commercial Service will support Pemex during its Houston Roadshow as they reach out to U.S. companies interested in integrated exploration and production contracts for Chicontepec.”  Ambassador Wayne and Director General Lozoya agreed that there are many areas where the United States can share best practices with Pemex, particularly in the area of unconventional gas.  Ambassador Wayne noted that the U.S. State Department and the Department of Interior will co-host with SENER an unconventional gas regulatory and environment workshop in early February.
