OLSON: MORE BUREAUCRACY WON'T HELP AMERICAN ENERGY PRODUCTION

Washington, DC- Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today issued the following statement in response to President Obama's Executive Order on natural gas production:

"President Obama’s recent executive order creating yet another interagency working group for natural gas activities fails to address the core problem with the federal government’s role in energy regulation.  Instead of involving more bureaucrats in the process, he should concentrate on curbing his agency's radical agenda against natural gas production. The President should focus on increasing access and opportunities for companies that are providing affordable energy and creating jobs.

"With this latest executive order, it’s clear the President’s true motive is to find ways to regulate natural gas production to death.  Why else would he insist on forcing more than 13 separate agencies and offices to review regulation of hydraulic fracturing?  This is yet another example of election year politics masking an anti-energy agenda to fool the voters."
