The COMET Program, part of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research's Community Programs, has recently released three brief modules that describe impacts of climate change.

A drifting buoy was adopted and deployed in November 2011 as part of NOAA's Adopt a Drifter Program, and is being followed by students as it tracks northwest of the Hawaiian Islands.

David Herring, Director of Communications and Education at NOAA's Climate Program Office, was recently elected to the rank of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow, in recognition of his contributions "in developing and deploying new and innovative ways of enhancing public engagement with Earth and space science research using the World Wide Web."
