Air Force Strings Send "Holiday Notes from Home" On October 26th, the Air Force Strings traveled to Nashville, joining the Band of the Air Force Reserve (Robins AFB, Ga.) for "Holiday Notes from Home"--a production that featured guest artists Amy Grant and Take 6. The live concert taping, emceed by radio and television personalities Lorraine Cook and Charlie Chase, will be broadcast across the globe via the Armed Forces Network throughout the holidays. Veterans Day: Honoring those who Served On a chilly, rainy November morning, the Concert Band took part in the Veteran's Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden attended the observance, and the thousands in the audience included hundreds of military veterans and their families. Despite the unfavorable conditions, the humbling occasion proved to be a fitting tribute to those who served. Read more... |

We have the distinguished honor of representing the very best of the United States Air Force to the American public. On November 7 and 8, 2009, The United States Air Force Band hosted the 5th Annual
Clarinet Ensemble Festival. This event brought clarinet ensembles from
around the nation together for a weekend of performances and panel discussions.
The Festival Director was Mitchell Estrin, professor of clarinet at the University
of Florida. More than 150 students, military members, and industry professionals

Celtic Aire to Deploy
Celtic Aire, comprised of four members from the Singing Sergeants, will deploy
to forward locations overseas in December for two months. The group has
been in
existence
since 2007, and has been featured at the White House, as well as at diplomatic
dinners around the National Capitol Region. This
