Mr. Al Cerrone, founding sponsor of the RI National Guard Open House Air Show is awarded the Patrick Henry award.

At a ceremony held at the 143d Airlift Wing (AW) All Ranks Club, Quonset Air National Guard Base (ANGB), North Kingstown, Rhode Island (RI), Colonel Lawrence Gallogly gives a short speach explaining the meaning of the Patrick Henry Award. The Patrick Henry Award is given to a civilian by the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS). It is designed to provide recognition to local officials and civic leaders, who in a position of great responsibility distinguished themselves with outstanding and exceptional service to the Armed Forces of the United States, the National Guard or NGAUS. It was presented to Mr. Al Cerrone, superior supporter of the Armed Forces, specifically the Rhode Island National Guard, and founding sponsor of the RI National Guard Open House and Air Show. Members of the Rhode Island Army National Guard fill sandbags at Camp Fogarty, East Greenwich, Rhode Island (RI) for placement at various locations throughout the state of RI to help hold back the flood waters. RI has experienced record flooding throughout the state. Soldiers and Airmen from the Rhode Island Army and Air National Guard have been called into State Active Duty to help a state in need. $100,000 to Hasbro Children's Hospital from the RING Open House Air Show

AAFES Opens In Rhode Island

Record Show!

Approximately 70,000 people crowded the ramp at Quonset Air National Guard Base, North Kingstown, Rhode Island, home of the 143d Airlift Wing during the annual RI National Guard Open House and Air Show. The RI Air Show is a free show put on for the benefit of the local community. Any proceeds generated by the show are donated to local Rhode Island charities. The major benefactor is the Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI. USAF photo by Technical Sergeant Jason Long (Released)
