People living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) often suffer from stigma and discrimination, but have limited access to legal support. An element of USAID/Health Policy Initiative's work in Vietnam is to help the PLHIV get the help they need to be treated fairly, for example, making sure their children get to go to school. USAID/HPI focuses on legal and policy issues surrounding the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Vietnam.

It's a workshop that will provide an opportunity to review and formulate a policy that will improve the economic livelihood of people living with HIV and AIDS, their families, and communities. But first, you will hear about successful strategies for increasing access to credit and working capital so PLHIV and other vulnerable populations can create employment for themselves and others.

HANOI, December 7, 2012 -- The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)'s Avian and Pandemic Influenza Initiative (USAID/APII) today joined Vietnam Farmer's Union to boost a nationwide use of a multi-sectoral approach to improving food safety of poultry and poultry products through behavior change communications (BCC). The BCC model was discussed at a dissemination workshop attended by public health experts, civil society organizations, and provincial representatives.
