1/27/2012 - 1/27/2012 -- A big salute goes out to the 172d Airlift Wing's MSgt Jeff Murrah for recently being named the recipient of the Mississippi National Guard's 2011 Charles L. Sullivan Leadership Award. Murrah serves the 172d as the Fuels Flight Superintendent. Fuels (POL) is charged with the safe storage, receipt, and issue of Jet Fuel (JP-8), MOGAS, Diesel, and Liquid Oxygen.
"I am honored to receive this award at this time in my career. I recently took over as the 172 AW Fuels Superintendent with a lot of work to do to get us back on track," said Murrah. "With the help of my POL team we are making good progress. This award would not be possible without the help of the great troops that surround me on a daily basis. I look forward to continuing to strive to be the best POL shop in the Air Force!"
With the announcement of the Sullivan leadership award, there was great reflection on the impact that many individuals make towards the wing's total team effort.
"MSgt Murrah has performed in an outstanding manner and through hard work has ultimately saved many lives," said 172d CMSgt Joseph Moss. "He has served the State of Mississippi and the United States in a very honorable manner."
