System Description

POLAR ICE is a web-based data collection and management tool used to support the yearly Antarctic research planning seasons. It is designed to gather information for all phases of the science submission and planning process, including the Operational Request Worksheet (ORW) and Support Information Package (SIP) required by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Industry-standard Internet browsers (i.e., Microsoft Internet Explorer®, Netscape®, Mozilla Firefox®, Apple Safari®) interface with POLAR ICE. After logging in to the system, you interact with web forms according to your security level to perform appropriate planning tasks.
