U.S. Army Major General Jose S. Mayorga, Texas Adjutant General arrives at McAllen Regional Airport in a U.S. Army C-23 Sherpa Transport Aircraft. Major General Mayorga attended the Operation Lone Star VIP/Media Day at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School in Pharr, Texas. PSJA High School was also a designated site for Operation Lone Star. Space available on Boeing 747 shuttle carrier

Inside the Boeing 747 that carries the space shuttle Endeavour is empty and very roomy. The 747 flies with only minimal crew due to its heavy payload and heavy duty modification to accommodate the space shuttle.
