Illegal Alien Pleads Guilty in MIA Security Case

Summary

Nestor Jose Perez, a former mechanic for F&E Aircraft Maintenance Company of Miami operating at Miami International Airport (MIA), pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Miami to obtaining a Secure Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge under false pretenses. The SIDA badge gave Perez access to secure areas of the airport. Perez will be deported. He was among 12 illegal aliens charged in Miami for the same violation. To date, seven of the 12 defendants have pleaded guilty. OIG investigated the case with the U.S. Customs Service.
