Former NHTSA Employee Ordered to Repay $12,000 For Embezzling From Government

On August 17, Julia Goldson, a former administrative staff assistant at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), was sentenced in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia, to pay $12,000 in restitution and serve 24 months probation for embezzling from the government. Between January and December 2003, Goldson received $12,000 for 401 hours of overtime work that she did not perform. Goldson resigned from NHTSA in October 2004 and plead guilty to the felony embezzlement charge in June 2006.
