November 25, 2002

Summary

Rose Flores, an aviation parts seller, was sentenced to 6 months’ home confinement by a U.S. District Court judge in Dallas for tax evasion, a charge related to unreported income Flores gained from selling scrap aircraft parts to RTS Services, Inc., an FAA-approved aircraft repair station. Flores was identified as a parts supplier during a larger investigation of RTS involving kickbacks, money laundering, and conspiracy for aircraft parts on repair contracts that RTS had with FAA and the U.S. Coast Guard. She pleaded guilty in June 2001. OIG conducted the investigation jointly with the FBI and DCIS.
