The Fairbanks Regulatory Field Office is responsible for the Fairbanks North Star Borough, the Denali Borough, the Dalton Highway, and all military projects north of the Alaska Range, including the cities of Fairbanks, Livengood, Circle, Big Delta, Black Rapids, Healy, Nenana, North pole, Delta Junction, as well as portions of Mt. Hayes, Mt. McKinely, Kantishna River and Tanana.

The Juneau Regulatory Field Office is responsible for projects located in southeast Alaska, from Cape Suckling south. Communities include Haines, Skagway, Hoonah, Juneau, Craig, Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island.

The Kenai Field Office is responsible for projects located within the eastern limit of the Seward and Sterling Highway intersection at Tern Lake, west to Cook Inlet, north to Nikiski, and to the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula to Port Chatham. Communities include Cooper Landing, Sterling, Soldotna, Kenai, Nikiski, Kasilof, Clam Gulch, Ninilchik, Anchor Point, Homer, Halibut Cove, Seldovia and Nanwalak. In 2012, the Kenai Field Office expanded its territory to all projects in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, to include the Alaska Railroad except for projects in the following areas: north of Milepost 44 on the Seward Highway near Summit Lake, which is covered by the Anchorage Field Office; Prince William Sound waters such as Blackstone Bay and Kings Bay; and west of the Kenai Peninsula in Cook Inlet waters and the west side of Cook Inlet.
