CRM Course Descriptions

CRM Basic Course. This course will teach you how to apply composite risk management to all situations and environments across a wide range of operations, activities, and processes. Composite risk management is useful in developing, fielding, and employing the total force.

CRM Basic Course for Army Civilians. This course was developed to emphasize CRM as it relates to the Army's civilian employees.

CRM for Individual and Team Risk Decisions. This 1.0 hour resident lesson ties CRM to Warrior Ethos and Army Values, and is being taught in Basic Combat Training classrooms. It may also be used to support unit-level introduction or refresher training.

CRM Tactical Course. This 2.7 hour resident course ties CRM to Troop Leading Procedures and is being taught in BOLC I, WOCS, and WLC. It may also be administered at unit level.

CRM Branch Modules. These 1.0 hour online training modules tie CRM to branch missions and systems. They are currently available for Air Defense Artillery, Armor, Aviation, Engineer, Infantry, Military Police, Transportation Corps, and Natural Disaster Response. Additional modules should be developed in the future. They will soon be taught in AIT, WOBC, and BOLC III, and may also support unit-administered training.

Commander’s Safety Course (CSC). This 8.0 hour online course arms commanders and leaders with the knowledge to administer a unit safety program, apply CRM, and leverage CRC tools and resources. Per CSA directive, all company-grade officers must complete this course prior to assuming command. Brigade and battalion command designees must complete the CSC prior to attending Fort Leavenworth's Pre-Command Course. The CSC will soon be a distance learning prerequisite for BNCOC and WOAC.

CRM Operational Course. This 1.5 hour online course ties CRM to the Military Decision Making Process and educates operational leaders on CRM tools and resources for application to battalion and brigade risk decisions. CRM Operational Course will soon be a distance learning prerequisite for ILE, WOSC, and ANCOC common core.

CRM for CP-12, Ground Safety Officer Course, and Aviation Safety Officer Course. This 18.4 hour resident TSP supports CRM training and education for Army Safety Professionals. It may also be administered as refresher training at unit/activity/installation levels. Contact the USACR/SAFETY CENTER G-7 at 334-255-0206/0232/0231.
