CAR partners with Laboratory programs to develop software technologies and applications codes in support of DOE missions in the defense, energy, and life sciences. We also conduct collaborative research and development in computer science, mathematics, and scientific computing focused on the long-term needs of Laboratory and DOE programs.

Develop and apply computer science expertise in support of LLNL programs through mission-inspired research, innovative software technologies, and collaborative application development in a timely and cost-effective manner.
CAR Divisions
There are four divisions
within the CAR Department. Each division contributes towards the specific needs of the Lawrence Livermore National Labortory mission.
