Important information for private doctors and private/civilian hospitals

In an effort to streamline the transfer of Veteran patients to our facility from other hospitals, please follow the steps below:

When a Veteran patient is admitted to your facility, please call our Bed Flow Coordinator nurse at 210-324-7547, 210-857-4426, or 210-857-4405, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

During non-administrative hours, Monday through Friday after 4:30 p.m. and before 7 a.m., as well as weekends and Holidays, please continue to call the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) at 210-617-5162, or the main number at 210-617-5300, and the AOD will attend to the transfer needs and questions.

Please stress to your staff that any communication outside of the above process may not be considered appropriate notification to our facility and may in fact delay transfer of the Veteran patient.  If you have any questions regarding the above process, or if you have any specific concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Bed Flow Coordinator.  Thank you for working with us in the care of our Veteran patients.
