Georgia Water Data

The Georgia Comprehensive State-wide Water Management Plan, adopted by the General Assembly in 2008, promotes water planning in Georgia by assessing the State's water resources and by forecasting future water demands and use. Ten regional Water Councils have been appointed to prepare water-development and conservation plans.

To implement the Plan, decision makers need access to water-availability and water-use data for the State. This Web site provides summaries of water use data for the Regions as well as access to a large part of the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) network of surface-water, ground-water, and water-quality monitoring sites for real-time and historical hydrologic data.

This map shows Georgia's 10 water-planning regions and the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District. Click on a region to find hydrologic information.
