The Connecticut Air National Guard has the best educational opportunities in the state for you, bottom line, tuition for our members is free (waived) and this means big savings for students.

When you are enrolled at any state university or college, to include community college and a member of the CTANG, you are NOT required to pay tuition.

Additionally, much of our training offers paid travel opportunities.

Groups of Connecticut Airmen travel for training to bases across the United States (for example Savannah Georgia, to Las Vegas Nevada, Arizona, Hawaii, Florida, Michigan, Texas and Wisconsin) and Puerto Rico and St. Croix Virgin Islands. Some of the training also takes place overseas at major installations in England, Japan and Germany.

In addition, many training opportunities are for individuals in the myriad of specialties that make-up the Connecticut Air National Guard. To accommodate the large number of attendees, training workshops are often held at resort locations in the low season such as Newport Rhode Island; Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco California; Orlando, Panama City, Cocoa Beach and Jacksonville Florida; Reno and Las Vegas Nevada; San Antonio and Dallas Texas, Burlington Vermont, Virginia Beach Virginia. Omaha Nebraska, Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Boise Idaho, Portland Oregon, Denver Colorado, Phoenix and Tucson Arizona, Baltimore Maryland, Knoxville Tennessee, Indianapolis Indiana, Salt Lake City Utah, Boston Mass, The District of Columbia, Little Rock Arkansas, Birmingham Alabama, Philadelphia and Pittsburg Pennsylvania, and St. Paul Minnesota. 

Train for a Career

The Connecticut Air National offers comprehensive training and hands-on experience in dozens of career fields. And, it's free. That training could lead to an Associates Degree in Applied Science through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). The CCAF offers college credit in more than 1,600 Air Force training courses. Improve your military specialty skills at home through the Extension Course Institute (ECI). ECI offers more than 400 mail-order courses - with many like auto mechanics, plumbing, electrical wiring and carpentry, applicable to civilian careers.
