Colonel Cheryl D. Minto is the Commander, 35th Maintenance Group, 35th Fighter Wing, Misawa Air Base, Japan. She is responsible for approximately 1,000 aircraft maintenance personnel who perform on- and off-equipment maintenance on 46 F-16CJ aircraft, an O & M budget of over $1 million, the daily operations of PACAF's regional jet engine intermediate maintenance facility that provides over 156 operational F110 engines valued at over $500 million to three fighter wings in PACAF; and a $200 million equipment account.

Colonel Minto was born in Berkeley, California. She was commissioned on 10 May 1990 through the ROTC program at the University of Southern California, and entered active duty service on 1 December 1990 after graduation. Col Minto has served in a variety of maintenance positions at the flight and squadron level maintaining A-10, B-1, F-15, F-16, KC-135 and MH-53 aircraft. She has commanded two squadrons, worked at an Air Logistics Center and held positions on the Air Staff. Prior to assuming her current position, she was a student at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces where she earned a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy.
Her family includes her husband, Lt Col (Ret.) Patrick D. Minto.
