Internet Map Server DescriptionThe Woods Hole Science Center (WHSC) Field Activities Internet Map Server (IMS) provides a geographic map view of the location of research related field activities conducted by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Coastal and Marine Geology Program (CMGP), Woods Hole Science Center dating from 1965 to the present. The polygon data layers presented here represent the geographic extent of the field activity undertaken. The actual area covered by the field activity will most likely be smaller than the extent displayed. You are encouraged to investigate the hyperlink of the field activity you are interested in for further information. The field activities map server will be updated weekly to include present day and planned field activities for the current year. The field activities represented here have been conducted by USGS researchers since 1965 in support of numerous scientific programs to study the seabed environments and processes. Additional information contained within the data layer includes pertinent information such as field activity number, upper left coordinate, lower right coordinate and hyper link to field activity summary page. Field Activities have been symbolized within the mapviewer to indicate year(s) of activity. Hyperlink properties The data layer listed below has associated hyperlink properties.
