Monday President Obama made remarks at the ZBB Energy Corporation manufacturing facility, a producer of battery technology and “smart” energy control and management systems in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The company is currently using Recovery Act State Energy Program loans to expand to three times its current manufacturing ability, and keep workers as well as hiring many new ones. The President noted the importance of creating jobs in manufacturing in companies like ZBB.
“We expect our commitment to clean energy to lead to more than 800,000 jobs by 2012,” President Obama stated. “And that’s not just creating work in the short term, that’s going to help lay the foundation for lasting economic growth. I just want everybody to understand –just a few years ago, American businesses could only make 2 percent of the world’s advanced batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles — 2 percent. In just a few years, we’ll have up to 40 percent of the world’s capacity.”

The Renewal Energy Efficiency Technology Business Enterprises in Africa should aim at stimulating first strategy priorities in economic industrial development, job creation, and poverty alleviation. This should be done by educating a new willing generation of simple useful innovative and socially responsible technical environmental frienldly methodologies in the energy arena. It should offer economic technology venture programs to motivated entrepreneurial people who commit to themselves to their home technological careers to participate in the energy efficiency technology development of the Africa South of Sahara Regional Economy. In addition the economic renewal energy efficiency technology development within the region will in turn encourage knowledge exchange between business enterprises in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It is therefore our duty as Africans with abundant natural resources and knowledge in the continent to let go the technology for the sustainable outreach development for our future generation. At the same time we should check on right democratic polity management reforms which are legally useful for the technological business-that means many African countries need to be as brave enough as KENYA to enact New Constitution to fit with our modern time of ethical wisdom of reasoning in business.
The technological guiding principles of the Clean Enegy Business Enterprises should fit well with the World Renewal Energy Efficiency Program’s focus on responsible leadership and sustainability in management education. Thus showing its commitment to the African Academia fundamentals, as also signed on to the United Nations Principles of Management Education (PRME). These principles include academic activities around the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in the UN Global Compact. The UN Global Compact is an United Nations initiative to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The PRME is an international voluntary engagement platform for business programs management, supporting them in their contribution to helping build prosperous and thriving societies through sound technological curricula, research, and advocacy of environmental friendly ventures.
Whether measured in terms of increased political, technological or environmental costs, meeting a growing world demand with declining natural assets is forcing smart business in two main directions. That is to improve the efficiency of use of existing natural capital (i.e.to do more with less), or to substitute increasingly scarce or sensitive commodities with alternative sustainable materials (i.e.to make things differently).
