Summary
Rock, gas, and water samples were collected over the 11 Alvin dives along with 8 mm video film, in the Southern Juan de Fuca hydrothermal vent area and the Endeavor Ridge area. Details of sampling are given as follows:
Dive 2111: sulfide chimney (5 pieces), 2 sediment in scoops, 4 go-flow bottles, 4 ti water samples
Dive 2112: hot water vents, sulfides, basalt lava
Dive 2113: 4 hot water ti-syringe, 4 go-flow plume water, 7 chopstick plume, numerous sulfide chimneys
Dive 2114: hot water from vents, chimney sulfides, near-bottom water sample
Dive 2115: 4 rock samples, 4 go-flow, 4 ti-syringe, 9 chopstick, water samples
Dive 2116: sulfides, basalt lava, hot water, warm water, cold water, 6 chopsticks, 4 ti-syringe, 4 go-flow samples
Dive 2117: 1 basalt, 2-3 chimney, 3 water samples
Dive 2118: 4 rocks, 1 sediment scoop, 1 gas tight sampler, 6 chopsticks, 1 go-flow
Dive 2119: 4 go-flow, 1 scoop, 1 rock, 1 gas, 1 major, 5 chopsticks
Dive 2120: 2 ti-syringe, 4 go-flow, 6 chopstick samplers
Dive 2121: water samples from vents, sulfide rock sample
