City of Lakesite Recreation Easement and Water Use Facilities

Hamilton County, Tennessee

On  October 19, 2012, TVA issued a final environmental assessment and finding of no signficant impact for its actions associated with the proposed development of a day-use community park by the City of Lakesite, Tennessee.  The TVA actions include the issuance of a 30-year recreation easement on a 49-acre tract of TVA-managed land on Dallas Bay, Chickamauga Reservoir, and the approval of associated water use facilities under Section 26a of the TVA Act.  Lakesite proposes to develop a canoe/kayak launch, a fishing dock, trails and sidewalks, a pedestrian bridge, picnic pavilions, restrooms, and a parking lot.

A draft of the environmental assessment was issued for public review and comment on April 18, 2012.  Comments received on the draft have been addressed in the final environmental assessment.
