Economic Development
Provincial Reconstruction Teams promote economic development at the provincial level by encouraging best practices across a wide-range of disciplines, including: banking and finance, agriculture, water, and transportation, as well as in the energy sector, including oil and electricity. U.S. experts from the Departments of State, Treasury, and Agriculture cooperate with local experts to facilitate economic-related conferences, agribusiness fairs, energy summits, trade shows, investment seminars, and budget discussions. Each PRT’s economic development experts also focus on supporting provincial investments, developing agricultural initiatives, strengthening basic financial services, and supporting infrastructural improvements to support local community development.
