Congressman Jim Bridenstine signed a letter to President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry urging them to reconsider continuing shipments of F-16 fighter aircraft to Egypt.
Titles for bills in the House always paint the legislation in an appealing light. I had to vote against more “Spending As Usual” tonight. One program actually expired in 2011 but received $265 million in 2012! Today’s bill proposed spending $1.2 billion over the next five years – with no consideration of offsets. Another bill was for less money, but still gave no thought to offsetting the
House Republicans have created a plan bold in name, but weak in substance. It’s called “No Budget, No Pay”. Here is the plan:
1. Suspend the debt limit until May 19th.
2. Make zero cuts to spending in the deal.
3. Violate the 27th Amendment of the Constitution by “varying” congressional compensation.
