The laboratory is managed for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) by the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC, a partnership between Battelle and MRIGlobal.
NREL is organized into three directorates: Science & Technology, Strategic Programs & Partnerships, and Laboratory Operations. The NREL organization chart shows the lab's current structure and key management positions.
