2013-14 BUDGET PROPOSAL:  Increased Funding for Health Care Access

Acting Secretary of Health Michael Wolf announced on Jan. 29 that Governor Corbett’s 2013-14 budget proposal will include $5 million to help increase access to health care in rural and underserved areas by funding community health centers and additional medical services, as well expanding programs to help attract and retain health care practitioners. Wolf discussed the governor’s budget proposal in while touring St. Luke’s Miners Health Center in McAdoo, Pa, a 2012-13 recipient of a Community Primary Care Challenge Grant.
