MISSION: The Security Branch serves as the principal staff office of the command responsible for matters related to intelligence and information security. The chief of the branch serves as the command’s Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) and is the Career Program Manager for CP35, Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Specific responsibilities of the division include: security clearances; coordination of senior official visits; access to classified information and activities; storage of classified information; destruction of classified media, and physical security.

Security

The Security section provides staff members assistance with submission of security clearances, employment background checks, pre-travel country briefs, fingerprinting and in- and out-processing. Hours for “walk-in” services are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 1 p.m. To 4:30 p.m. The office is closed on all U.S. holidays.

Antiterrorism/Force Protection

The mission of the Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) staff is to provide the WACH community with a AT/FP program designed to protect lives, facilities, information and equipment. The AT/FP staff advises hospital leadership on AT/FP matters; conducts antiterrorism training for installation personnel; analyzes and disseminates threat information as it relates to AT/FP, develops AT/FP plans and programs; and conducts vulnerability assessments.

Physical Security

By providing announced, unannounced, and courtesy inspections IAW Army Regulation AR 190-13, The Army Physical Security Program, we can assure that high standards are being maintained for securing and maintaining the well being of Army materials and other property at Winn Army Community Hospital. We also provide assessments to health facilities to determine if they meet the security requirements set forth in regulatory requirements for the security of Unclassified Army Property (Sensitive and Non-Sensitive). We provide assistance in establishing key control within your organization or directorate. We provide guidance for conducting risk analysis for Army assets. The risk analysis assessment supports the hospital commander in meeting the responsibility of protecting assets against criminal and terrorist threats in a cost effective manner. We assist in planning security requirements for newly constructed facilities and existing facilities. We provide guidance on requirements for security containers and locks.
