SGT Ian Morales

SGT Morales was born and raised in Virginia, but now hails from the Space Coast of Florida. He enlisted into the Army Reserves as a Photo Journalist in 2008. After completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC, he attended AIT at Fort Meade, MD. Shortly after arriving to his reserve unit in Orlando, Fl, he returned to Fort Meade to become a Broadcast Journalist. Upon graduating, SGT Morales volunteered and was assigned to the 209th Broadcast Operations Detachment in Rome, GA and deployed as a TV news producer to Baghdad, Iraq in 2010.
Returning home to Florida, he was reassigned to the 204th Public Affairs Detachment and volunteered to deploy to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait to support Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom.
SGT Morales’ interests include writing and playing music, traveling, studying history, photography, and film.
