Battery Drop Off Points

Old, used batteries should never be thrown into normal trash or into the yellow recycling bags. When a piece of metal or water comes in contact with batteries it causes a current to flow that could result in fire. Old batteries can be properly disposed of at several locations throughout the community at the following locations:

  • Clay Kaserne, Directorate of Public Works, Building 1057
  • Clay Kaserne, Shoppette, Building 1046
  • Mainz Kastel Storage Station, Shoppette, Building 2
  • Hainerberg, Commissary Main Entrance, Building 7855
  • Hainerberg, PX and Shoppette, Building 7762/7883
  • Hainerberg, Self Help Store, 3 Mississippi
  • Hainerberg, Elementary School, Building 7778
  • Aukamm Elementary School, Building 7267
Take your old automotive batteries to where you purchased the replacement battery, and turn it in, or bring it to the One Stop Point, but never leave these batteries by the dumpsters or on the curbsides. For more information contact the Directorate of Public Works.

Grilling on Housing Area Balconies

Wiesbaden fire safety officials remind residents of all housing areas that it's forbidden to grill on balconies.

Also remember to never add lighter fluid or other flammable liquids to a grill after it's lit. And always make sure coals are extinguished before disposal.

Be smart. Be safe.

No grass cutting on Sundays

Sundays are for relaxing, not working.

U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden officials remind community members that German law prohibits anyone from cutting grass on Sundays and German holidays. Violators are subject to hefty fines.

Trash, Waste and Recycling

Do the world a favor and stop by the Home Improvement Store for a copy of the Trash, Waste and Recycle Program. The program lists all the dates and times of trash pickup in your housing area. You can also get a better understanding of what needs to be recycled and how. Stop by the Home Improvement Store in the Hainerberg Housing Area. Frequently Asked Questions about Refuse.

For a complete list of trash pick-ups in all community housing areas go to Trash pick-up schedules.
