Sen. Rand Paul: Trust but verify on immigration reform
I am in favor of immigration reform. I am also wary of reforms granted now for a promise of border security later. In 1986, Ronald Reagan signed a deal that made just such a promise, yet we are still waiting for the border security that never came. Conservatives are also still waiting for the promised three dollars in spending cuts for every dollar in tax hikes. Fool me once ... So, it is understandable conservatives should insist that any immigration reform incorporate the principle of trust but verify. -

Kentucky Herald Leader Op-Ed: Senator Rand Paul: Legalize hemp to aid Ky. economy
A recent national poll concluded that 43 percent of Americans believe unemployment and job creation is the most important issue facing our country. So it's no surprise that Republicans and Democrats in Washington claim to be big supporters of creating jobs. -

Wall Street Journal Op-Ed: Paul: The Real Danger From the Fiscal Cliff
Americans are told that they face a "fiscal cliff" if automatic federal spending cuts and tax increases occur at the end of the year. I'm not in favor of jumping off a cliff, but the logic of the supposed threat needs to be questioned. -

Washington Times Op-Ed: Ron Paul Revolution: GOP's Last Best Hope
Some argue that Ron Paul was never relevant, that he was simply a gadfly who never accomplished anything legislatively. Others, myself included, argue that maybe, just maybe, the Ron Paul Revolution is the last best hope for saving the GOP from oblivion. -

PAUL: Where were the Marines?
Monday's foreign policy debate between President Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney was designed to help voters better understand each man's vision for America's role abroad. While I have publicly taken issue with both candidates on aspects of their foreign policies, there is no question that Mr. Romney remains the right choice for Americans on Nov. 6. -

Lexington Herald Leader Op-Ed: Sen. Rand Paul: Vote was against wasteful bill, not veterans
Recently the Herald-Leader criticized me for voting against a Veterans Job Corps program that was introduced in the U.S. Senate last month. My reasons for voting against the bill had nothing to do with "letting down our veterans," as the editorial implies. -

Louisville Courier Journal: Senator Rand Paul writes on foreign aid
After the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, I supported the war in Afghanistan. I support the position that no nation or faction should ever be allowed to attack America without swift and overwhelming reprisal. -

CNN Op-Ed: Rand Paul: Romney's wrong on Middle East, defense spending
This week, I will campaign for Gov. Mitt Romney. I believe this election will and should be about moving America back from the edge of the abyss on which we stand, where our debt and spending threaten to overwhelm and drown us. Romney's belief in free markets, limited government and trade make him the clear choice to lead our country come January. -

Washington Times Op-Ed: Demanding justice from Libya, Egypt and Pakistan
By now my colleagues in the Senate are familiar with the tragic story of Pakistani doctor Shakil Afridi. Since Dr. Afridi was taken into custody by Pakistani officials in May 2012, I have been fighting for his release. I have also been working for a vote on a bill that would cut foreign aid to Pakistan until they free this ally of America. -

Washington Times Op-Ed: Help SEAL Team 6, go straight to jail in Pakistan
Most Americans remember where they were on 9/11/2001. I was performing eye surgery in Bowling Green, Ky. I walked out of surgery and into a patient's room to find a scene of horror being played on the television screen.
