Supermarket Bombing in Kabul

The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms the suicide bombing that took place today inside a popular Kabul supermarket. Numerous innocent Afghan and international civilians were killed and wounded in this senseless act. By attacking a peaceful place of commerce, insurgents have once again demonstrated their lack of respect for the safety of the Afghan people.

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to those affected by today's bombing. The United States will not be deterred in standing with our Afghan partners to defeat the terrorism that stands against them and a stable future.
