U.S. Embassy Condemns Attack in Jalalabad

The U.S. Embassy strongly condemns the suicide attack yesterday in Jalalabad that killed 40 Afghan individuals and injured more than 70, many of whom were ANSF personnel.  This deliberate and brutal attack against hardworking and courageous civil servants is another example of the anti-Islamic behavior and cowardice of the Taliban. 

The United States will continue to fight alongside our Afghan partners to work to stop these acts of terrorism.  Our deepest condolences go out to the victims’ families and to the residents of Jalalabad.
