The United States Condemns Suicide Attack in Kandahar City

The United States strongly condemns the suicide bombing that occurred today in Kandahar, reportedly killing more than twenty civilians, and wounding fifty others.   By targeting a busy civilian area, the terrorists have once again demonstrated their utter disregard for the safety and security of the Afghan people. 

We mourn this tragic loss of life, and our sympathies go out to those affected by today’s bombing, as well as their families and communities. We remain undeterred in standing with the Afghan people against this violence directed against them.
