The installation sports program offers over 100 facilities for dedicated sports enthusiasts or for the occasional athlete. Programs are geared to the needs and desires of the Fort Gordon community with an emphasis on unit level participation. The sports office also offers a variety of special events throughout the year.

A 50-meter Olympic size indoor pool is located on the corner of 25th Street and Barnes Avenue in Building 21608. This pool is open six days a week (closed on Sunday) and offers locker use for pool pass members. Programs offered include lifeguard classes, winter and summer child swim lessons, adult swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swim and recreational swim. (706) 791-3034.

Gordon Lakes Golf Club

One of the finest golf courses in the south is Gordon Lakes Golf Club. The original 18 holes were designed and built in 1976 by Robert Trent Jones, the world renowned golf course architect. The north nine holes were designed by Ault and Clark Associates and opened for play in 2002. It is a true championship 27-hole layout that has hosted the All Armed Forces Championship and the All Army Golf Trials. All courses play to a demanding par 72, with yardage varying from 5,600 to 7,100. Six holes are played around a 20-acre lake, with a Robert Trent Jones signature island hole. The course features 81 bunkers, and cutout inside many Georgia pines and other native trees.

Gordon Lanes Bowling Center

Gordon Lanes offers bowling for all ages. It is located in Building 33200, next to the Post Exchange’s PX. This center has 24 USBC-sanctioned bowling lanes, automatic scorers, a variety of electronic video and amusement machines, a full service snack bar, a pro shop and the “Kegler’s Lounge” sports lounge featuring pool tables, video games, volleyball courts, sports TV and beverage services. Gordon Lanes is open seven days a week for both open and league bowling.

Fort Gordon Woodworth Consolidated Library, Building 33500, located at Rice Road and Brainard Avenue, provides comprehensive library services to the Fort Gordon community. The central point of access for information resources in print or digitized format, the library consists of 48,000 books, 10,000 military publications and more than 200 periodical subscriptions. The library’s mission is to provide support for the training, educational and recreational interests of U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon personnel and military family members.

For the outdoor enthusiast, Fort Gordon is a paradise. Leitner Lake is just off Gibson Road near Range Control. This area is a sportsman’s paradise, providing both hunting and fishing leisure time activities. The lake is amply stocked for fisherman and game-managed hunting areas are available for hunters. Scheduled activities and programs include fishing tournaments and hunter safety classes. Picnic tables, a children’s playground, covered pavilion and primitive camping sites are available at Leitner Lake.

Pointes West Army Resort

Pointes West Army Resort is located 23 miles from Fort Gordon on Highway 104 near Leah, Ga. Some of the activities available on this 912-acre preserve are camping, picnicking, swimming, hiking, boating and fishing. Pointes West is located on Clarks Hill Lake which is a 70,000 acre man made reservoir, and has over 1,000 miles of shoreline.

Hilltop Riding Stable

The Fort Gordon Hilltop Riding Stable are located off North Range Road at 16th Avenue. More than 250 acres of trails are available to horseback riders. Lessons are offered for beginners to advanced riders. Hay rides, pony rides and organized trail rides for groups are conducted. Included are summer and holiday youth horse camps, lakeside ride outs, horseback adventure and education sessions and Fort Gordon’s Pony’s Saddle Club.

Nature Trail

Fort Gordon offers a unique setting for all to enjoy at its wildlife viewing blind and nature trail in Training Area 34 on Rowe Lane. Experience nature at its best; you may encounter river otter, beaver, raccoon, wood ducks, great blue herons, whitetail deer and eastern wild turkey, as well as many species of reptiles and amphibians. The site is ideal for family outings.

Gordon's Conference & Catering

Gordon's Conference & Catering provides a top quality dining and entertainment facility for the community. The club offers lunch buffet and grill Monday through Friday, special event programs, Sunday brunch on special occasions, party services and a complete catering service. Gordon's Conference & Catering is located in Building 18402, on the corner of 19th Street and Brainard Avenue.

Courtyard Recreation and Dining Center

Casual dining, great food, superb customer service and fun are what make the Courtyard an exciting, full-spectrum entertainment and dining alternative at Fort Gordon. Now located in the Courtyard is Teresa’s, a full service Mexican restaurant. Enjoy sports, movies and music videos on the 9 x 12 video wall.

Kegler’s Café

Kegler’s Café, adjacent to Gordon Lanes, is open to military and civilians. The sports theme offers an atmosphere of camaraderie with pool tables, six large televisions, video games and your favorite beverages and snacks. Current televised sports events (including closed circuit) are shown via satellite. Kegler’s Café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Slinger's Express

Slinger's Express at Darling Hall offers a variety of breakfast and lunch items. It is located on the first floor of Darling Hall, Building 33720. Slinger's Express is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bogey’s Grill at Gordon Lakes Golf Courses

Bogey’s Grill is located on Range Road, Building 537, in the clubhouse at Gordon Lakes Golf Courses. Bogey’s Grill offers a variety of breakfast and lunch items. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Better Opportunities for Single Service Members (BOSS)

The Better Opportunities for Single Service Members program supports the overall quality of single Soldiers’ lives. BOSS identifies real Soldier well-being issues and concerns by recommending improvements through the chain of command. BOSS also encourages and assists single Soldiers in identifying and planning for recreational and leisure activities. Additionally, the program gives single soldiers the opportunity to participate in and contribute to their respective communities through volunteer activities throughout the year.

The Fort Gordon Entertainment Program, located in Building 32100 in the Post Exchange’s PX complex, offers a full season of professionally directed and produced theatrical and concert attractions. Using an all-volunteer cast, crew and backstage helpers, participants come from both the military and civilian communities. This program produces the critically acclaimed Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre. The dinner theatre has a full season of Broadway type musicals, comedies, dramatic presentations and special attractions.
