HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis (TB) rates are on the rise in Ukraine. USAID strives to contain these epidemics and alleviate their impact by reaching out to high-risk groups with a comprehensive package of services and education. USAID supports implementation of proven practices in TB control and prevention of drug-resistant TB, as well as works to improve access to TB/HIV co-infection diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, USAID endeavors to reduce HIV transmission among most-at-risk-populations by providing quality information and services, building a policy environment that increases access to quality services, and strengthening the capacity of public organizations and NGOs to implement national HIV/AIDS and TB programs.

Furthermore, USAID supports Ukraine’s efforts to increase the availability of modern family planning methods and improve the quality of maternal and infant health services.
