The final Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) for the Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of Tactical Infrastructure, Airport Mesa Road and Fence, U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) San Diego Sector, California (Segment A-2M) is available for public information and use. The tactical infrastructure consists of an approximately 0.7 mile long access road at the top of Airport Mesa near Jacumba, California and 450 feet of primary pedestrian fence and a maintenance road along the border at the top of the mesa. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) performed an environmental analysis and prepared the ESP to document potential environmental impacts associated with the project and to ensure that adverse environmental impacts are minimized. The Segment A-2M ESP was based, in part, on a previous Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) that was prepared and provided for public comment on June 25, 2007. No comments were received on that original document. The Draft EA may be found in the Archived Documents folder. |
