The Environmental Stewardship Plan (ESP) for the Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of Tactical Infrastructure, U.S. Border Patrol San Diego Sector, El Cajon, Campo, and Boulevard Stations California (A-2 Segments) is available for public information and use. The infrastructure consists of approximately 10.2 miles of primary pedestrian fence and 5.2 miles of associated patrol and access roads in eastern San Diego County. In addition, approximately 5.1 miles of existing vehicle fence is being converted to primary pedestrian fence, and is included in the total of 10.2 miles. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) performed an environmental analysis and prepared the ESP to document potential environmental impacts associated with the project and to ensure that adverse environmental impacts are minimized. This ESP was based on a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) that was prepared and provided to the public for comment on January 7, 2008. Agency and public comments from the open house were considered and incorporated in the ESP. |
