Good Morning State and National Grantees,
On July 1, 2010, Puerto Rico began issuing new, more secure certified copies of birth certificates to U.S. citizens born in Puerto Rico. Effective October 30, 2010 any member using a Puerto Rican birth certificate to establish citizenship status for AmeriCorps eligibility is required to produce the new, certified document. Members enrolled prior to October 30, 2010 with the old birth certificate are not required to obtain a new one.For more information, see: http://www.prfaa.com/birthcertificates/
