Albuquerque District Flood Risk Management Program

The Albuquerque District Flood Risk Management Program is your local representative of the Corp’s National Flood Risk Management Program.  You can review that program at www.nfrmp.us.

Some of the specific goals of the National Flood Risk Management Program include:

  • Providing current and accurate floodplain information to the public and decision makers,
  • Identifying and assessing flood hazards posed by aging flood damage reduction infrastructure,
  • Improving public awareness and comprehension of flood hazards and risk,
  • Integrating flood damage and flood hazard reduction programs across local, state and Federal agencies, and
  • Improving capabilities to collaboratively deliver and sustain flood damage reduction and flood hazard mitigation services to the nation.

FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT SERVICES PROGRAM
Under the umbrella of the Flood Risk Management Program, is the Floodplain Management Services Program (FPMS).  The FPMS Program was developed to assist the people who live and work in the floodplain to understand the flood hazards and the actions they can take to reduce property damage and to prevent loss of life by flooding.
