Health programs in the West Bank and Gaza improve health care systems, provide medical equipment, expand access to high-quality medical facilities, and strengthen the institutional capacities of the Ministry of Health and local nongovernmental organizations.
USAID's health program in the West Bank and Gaza aims to:
- Strengthen essential health systems functions and institutions;
- Procure essential health supplies, equipment, and other commodities and assist the Ministry of Health in establishing appropriate and cost-efficient procurement procedures;
- Link communities to their health care facilities, improving service utilization and accountability; and
- Improve professional training for physicians, nurses, and midwives.
