World Food Program (WFP)

WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The UN organization is financed through voluntary donor contributions to meet food aid needs and operating costs.  These contributions feed vulnerable people, such as women, children and refugees, through food distributions and school feeding and Food-for-Work programs. The WFP pursues a vision of the world in which every man, woman, and child has access at all times to the food needed for an active and healthy life.
 
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

FAO, the UN's largest specialized agency, has the mandate to raise levels of nutrition, improve agricultural productivity, better the lives of rural populations, and contribute to the growth of the world economy.  FAO activities comprise four main areas: putting information within reach; sharing policy expertise; providing a neutral forum for international discussion; and bringing knowledge to the field. A major focus of FAO’s work is helping both developing and developed countries modernize and improve agriculture, forestry, and fisheries practices in order to ensure improved nutrition for all.
 
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

IFAD is a specialized agency of the United Nations that enables the rural poor to overcome poverty by providing low-interest loans and grants for projects designed to introduce, expand, or improve food production. IFAD focuses on country-specific solutions, which can involve increasing the rural poor’s’ access to financial services, markets, technology, land and other natural resources.

International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM)

ICCROM is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to the conservation of cultural heritage through improving the quality of conversation practice as well as raising awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Five main forms of action are used in order to achieve this: training, information, research, cooperation, and advocacy.

The International Development Law Organization (IDLO)

IDLO was created in order to prepare legal professionals in developing countries for the protection and promotion of their societies’ interests. It advances economic and social opportunities for those who are most in need. IDLO provides developing countries, countries in economic transition and those emerging from armed conflict with the resources, tools and professional skills to establish or strengthen the rule of law and good governance practices. IDLO works with judicial and legal professionals, institutions, governmental and non-governmental organizations toward achieving five main strategic objectives that contribute directly to development: National Strategies & Frameworks, Legal Empowerment, Global Challenges, Networks, and Knowledge Generation.

The International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT)

UNIDROIT is an independent intergovernmental organization whose purpose is to study the needs and methods for modernizing, harmonizing, and co-coordinating private and commercial laws between States.
