This should work well with server grade CPUs. For those who want to use it at home i doubt it will be any less noisy. Its going to be too noisy for home operation. Its better for use with servers where nobody really cares of the sound it makes!

centrifugal force on this thing is 9000x greater than gravity. get it spinning to +2000rpm and you can throw this thing across a room in a case and it wont stop pumping air.

Its not about the motor, they can put any kind of motor in there that they want. Its really about the design.

What about the heat transfer from the cpu die to the static base of this cooler ? That's also a problem area where efficiency is lost, not to mention as someone already pointed out 99.9% of all consumer motherboards are mounted vertical.
