tabAbout Us
The 36th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron uses fixed wing aircraft such as the C-130, C-17 and KC-135 to move patients in need of life-saving care around the world. Its mission is to move battle casualties from war zones, but AES Airmen don't need war to shine as they have supported numerous humanitarian missions, such as caring for patients affected by Hurricane Katrina and Rita in fall of 2005. An aeromedical evacuation mission generally consists of two flight nurses and three aeromedical evacuation technicians. The payload may just be one person or as many as 50 patients. The squadron joined the 440th Airlift Wing April 1, 2008.
