U.S. Coast Guard Approved Successful completion of this course will satisfy:

1. The Basic Safety Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-2 of the STCW Code and 46CFR10.205(1)(2); AND

2. Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code; AND

3. Basic and Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of 46CFR10.205(g) and 10.401(g)(1) for a license; AND

4. Fire Fighting training requirements of 46CFR13.201(e), 13.301(e), 13.401(e) or 13.501(e) for any tankerman endorsement.

Class sessions include both classroom and live fire exercises.

This course (MARADG-125) is designed to support the fire prevention and fire-fighting training requirements for certificate or license endorsement of the United States Merchant Seaman and to development the confidence and skills necessary to combat shipboard fires.

The five-day class is held Monday through Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m., and concluding at 4:30 p.m. daily.

 The training fee is $125.00 per person.  Payment of training fee should be made online at www.pay.gov

 **Firefighting training is, by its very nature, hazardous.  Trainees must be in sound physical condition and capable of performing all activities associated with the course exercises and field evolutions.  The United States Government does not provide insurance of any type for participants in the program.  Participants personally assume all risks in connection with the firefighting training activities.  The Maritime Administration reserves the right to deny training to or terminate training of any individual at any time when such training appears to constitute a hazard to such person or to others.

Entry standards are as follows:

U.S. Citizen or Individuals holding U.S. Coast Guard documentation and working on a U.S. flag vessel. Be prepared to show one of the following forms of identification. Trainees who refuse or are unable to provide the identification described below will not be issued a course completion certificate. (NMC Policy Letter 11-02)
